So, PKM. It’s a hot topic, which I find very attractive, yet which I’m not very good at practicing it.

The idea is quite simple. Note taking, but then elevated to an art. Purists like Nick Milo and Steph Ango often use the term ‘Note making’ over ‘note taking’. It’s the process of making simple straightforward notes about subjects you find interesting and relevant.

The second important part, is the linking of the notes. So then when you read a note, you can see all related notes on that subject. It’s like making a Wikipedia style database of your own life or subject.

Oh, many notes are meant to start small, and grow over time. Maggie Appleton’s definition of a digital garden is this:

A digital garden is a collection of imperfect notes, essays, and ideas growing slowly over time.
